Welcome to the Denver Academy of Surgery

A message from our President

Dear DAS Members,
Welcome to the DAS and our official website.  This is Colorado’s oldest Surgical Society.  We are celebrating our 70th year with our founding in 1948.  The DAS provides an opportunity to gather as a community of surgeons.

Our constitution defines our purpose:
“The association is organized exclusively to form a closer association of the surgeons in Colorado and adjacent states in order to maintain a high standard in this area of medicine and to advance the science and art of surgery in the service of the patient and health of the public, to provide fellowship and education of its members, and in general to promote the betterment of the medical profession.”

We hope to fulfill this charge by bringing national and local surgeons to present topics of interest for our members.  It is also a wonderful opportunity to gather and connect with others in this profession of Surgery.

Please encourage your colleagues to join.  An application is available on our website.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.

Warmest Regards,
Bruce Waring, MD, FACS
