Bylaws

Article 1

DUES

1. Regular dues for Active members shall be set annually by the Executive Council with approval of the majority of the membership present at the annual business meeting. Senior members pay usual charges for dinner and meetings attended.  Dues are payable in January for the ensuing year.  Notices of delinquency will be forwarded to such members in March of each year.  Members who are delinquent on May 1 following shall be automatically dropped from membership.

2. The fiscal year shall begin January 1.  The books shall be reviewed as of that date. 

3. Honorary members shall pay no dues.

Article II

DUTIES AND OFFICERS

1. The President shall preside at all meetings, shall appoint all committees not otherwise provided and shall be Chairman of the Council.

2. The President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President.

3. The Secretary shall keep a record of proceedings of the Academy and of the Council, shall send notices in a timely fashion before the date of each meeting to all members of the Academy, stating the program and other presentations with the names of their authors and shall perform such other duties as may be designated by the Council.

4. The Treasurer shall collect and receive all dues and assessments.  He shall have charge of the Academy’s funds, make all disbursements and report in writing at the annual meeting, or more often, if demand by a majority vote of active members present at a regular meeting.

Article III

1. Meetings shall be dinner meetings held on the third Thursday of meeting months or at times approved by the Executive Council.

2. The order of business shall be left to the discretion of the presiding officer.

Article IV

AMENDMENT

1. The Constitution and Bylaws may be amended by two-thirds (2/3) vote at any regular or special meeting of the Society.
